2007 – SoundCloud was founded by sound designer Alexander Ljung and electronic musician Eric Wahlforss.

2008 – Official website of SoundCloud was launched in October.

2009 – SoundCloud received funding of about €2.5 Million from Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures.

2010 – SoundCloud completed its 1 million users.
